| THE NOSE KNOWS Nose facts: 1. No two people smell an odor the same way. A rose may smell sweeter to some than others. 2. Your sense of smell influences the sense of taste. A nose full of mucus = tasteless foods. 3. Dogs' smell cells are 100 times larger than humans! Memories: When the nose experiences a fragrance, the brain processes an instant memory. A sunny windowsill inside is a good spot for an herb garden. Mint, rosemary, sage, chives, and lemon thyme are especially fragrant. So are hyacinth and gardenia. Smell the fragrance of a flower or herb and plant a memory. Don't Sneeze on Me! Place puppets and tissues in the dramatic play area. Children use the puppets to tell each other to "Cover your nose when you sneeze." Emphasize how and when to blow a nose. Tissue goes in the trash! Wash hands!!
